Garmisch-Partenkirchen Winter

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located within breath-taking panoramic mountain views at the foot of Germany´s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. It offers perfect conditions for our visitors´ excursions or vacations, and for us it is: home!

Garmisch-Partenkirchen: that is the embodiment of spectacular and untouched nature, typical Bavarian lifestyle, Bavarian culture and four seasons of outdoor sports – frankly: Garmisch-Partenkirchen is always worth a visit.

We strongly recommend a sight-seeing tour after a visit to our shop: you will immediately get to feel our region´s savoir vivre. Typical house paintings will be your guide, explaining the history and tradition of its people.

The region´s cuisine is also a mirror of its peoples way of living: you will find everything from Bavarian classics to organic regional food and selected gourmet restaurants.

Our staff will enjoy to share any hot-tipp, so just feel free to ask.

The region also offers world-famous historic Bavarian cultural monuments like Linderhof castle, the village of Oberammergau or the Benedictine abbey of Ettal.

A whole variety of cultural events is offered: the musical highlight is the Richard-Strauss-Festival in commemoration of the world-famous composer, who chose Garmisch-Partenkirchen for his home. Our impressive mountain views were once the inspiration for his famous „Alpensymphonie“.

Winter in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is all about Wintersports: On December 30th the international Citybiathlon will once again take place in the pedestrian zone in Garmisch, along with famous Stars like Magdalena Neuner and Miriam Gössner. On New Years Day you can witness world class ski-jumping at the famous Olympic ski-jump.

Our highlight of this winter will be when the alpine skiing elite is back in Garmisch- Partenkirchen. One year after the very successful 2011 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships there will be four races held on the worldfamous Kandahar speed track.
